Winter Wren Teapot & Cup
This Teapot and cup are by the Nature’s Sketchbook Artist, Marjolein Bastin made popular by Hallmark Cards Inc. These items however were produced by Demdaco, also a Kansas City company. The teapot is about 8 ½ inches high to the glazed pinecones on the top of the notched lid. The main body of the teapot is right at 6 inches in out-side diameter and 7 ½ tall without the lid. It is white glazed ceramic with a decal of a Winter Wren standing on a twig with pinecone, and Marjolein’s signature underneath. Across the upper portion is a twig with a group of 3 pinecones and a sprig of long pine needle greenery. A collection of the long pine needle sections is grouped on the lower part of the teapot opposite the Winter Wren. Swirls and curls of grey embellish both the front and back of the teapot. An additional twig and sprig of green pine needles adorn the back shoulder of the teapot. The curved handle with generous opening is painted with bright gold.
The teacup’s bowl is not quit 3 ½ inches high; to the top of the gold painted handle is about 3 ¾ inches; diameter of the bowl opening is about 3 inches. A combination of the Winter Wren on twig with group of pinecones is on the front of the cup. The back has a twig with single sprig of pine needles. A repeat of the grey swirls and curl back drop the decals.
This is a new item, and comes in the original box with Styrofoam and tag. There are no chips, cracks or flaws on it.
