Marx Tales Of Wells Fargo Playset #4264 Nm For Sale
Beautiful, hard to find 1959 Marx Tales of Wells Fargo playset, # 4264 Series 1000. Using PFPC #26 as my contents guide I would say it’s about 99% complete – only missing 2 spitoons, 1 cactus, 2 small accessories sprues, instruction sheet and box divider. Stagecoach, horse harness and driver w/whip are all mint, no brakes or damage. Main street front is excellent, I would rate it a solid C-9.
The only problems that I can detect are as follows:
All other figures and animals are excellent. I think they are all color matched but I can’t guarantee it – I’ve looked at them in every shade of light available and they seemed color matched to me but that’s just my opinion.
One mystery I did find while researching in PFPC, (as far as I know Playset Magazine hasn’t covered this set yet) is the box lithograph colors. In the article the #4264 is described as being lithographed in black and gold not the green and brown of my set. My set is the same color as that of the Rifleman set that was also released in 1959. There is no question that my box is vintage so if anyone out there knows the story behind the different litho colors please let me know – just curious.
Payment through Paypal is required within 5 days of sale close. Please note I leave response on all transactions so only offer on it you intend to follow through with the purchase. I’ll pack it good, (buildings will remain assembled) and will insure it as part of the shipping cost. Sorry the shipping cost is so much but it’s a big box. I ship to USA locations, (lower 48) only. Selling as is so please feel free to ask questions. Thanks for looking.
