These are beautiful weighty tubes with ceramic bases and black plates. One of the premier output tubes ever made. They are nearly identical to the 6384s with plate cap. When tested the 6384 against Gold Lion and Gold Monarch KT88s, TungSol 6550s, Mullard and Tele EL34s, including metal base, EL37s, KT77s, KT66s and several other highly regarded output tubes: No Contest! The 6384 is superior in every aspect of audio sensory perception. Much more rugged contruction; overbuilt during Cold War Era to survive nuclear attack.
