As u can see in the Photos, the Mannequin is about the same size as my live model, BUT that photo was blurry, is bright sunlight, (she actually was laying out by the Pool!),.. & I had to crop it so much to not show her face, (she threatened my very life if I showed her head), so..the mannequin was better at being able to see the size, and how it lays! The Mannequin is not \"Symmetrically\" made, though...it sort of is turned in 1 direction more than another, but hopefully with ALL of them, you can tell what is what! She created exciting, colorful, & eye-catching designs that made her mark in jewelry history forever.She first trained as a painter at the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts in MexicoCity, where she worked with famed Mexican muralist, Diego Rivera. She openedher own silver shop in 1934, hallmarking her pieces \"Matl\", which isderived from the Aztec word for \"water\". Her pieces were heavily adornedwith Baroque detail work, & featured the festive Colors of Mexico, oftenusing Turquoise, Amethyst, & Coral as accents. Upon Poulat\'s death in 1960,her nephew, Ricardo Salas, continued creating beautiful jewelry under the\"Matl\" hallmark until his own death in 2006. Her pieces haveskyrocketed in price, as have the pieces that are merely SIMILAR to her style, NOTbearing the Matl Hallmark. For your consideration, is one of therare exceptions to the \"Inspired\" pieces. It is BEAUTIFUL, MASSIVE, VERY Elaborately done, &VERY, VERY Heavily made. It is a Necklace that will awe even the most discerningof Matl collectors. On its own merit, it is truly a wearable piece ofArt,..featuring 210 delicately bezelset Sterling Beads, 105 Round Piecesof Highly Polished Blue Turquoise,bezel set in 2\'s & 3\'s- the typical Matl Style, & an unbelievable 30 Large square pieces of Faceted, Hand cut Genuine Amethyst, also bezelset. The Colors of Amethyst are just simply striking, with the ULTRA deep,dark, Vibrant Purples, sheer Lavender, & a Rose-hued Purple. It has a totalof 30 Panels, 2 that are double-stacked- that together are a FULL 2\" Wide. These Panels began asTHICK, Heavy gauge Sterling Bases, each one adorned with 14 Sterling Beads that are bezel set, 7 Pieces of Turquoise, & 2 Square Chunks of Amethyst- accounting for allof that magnificent weight! On the Top of each one, the Rain Beads are morepronounced, & on the bottom of each one, there\'s a Triple Scalloped edging.Wavy designed Sterling Silver Swirls adorn the sides of the Panels from Top tobottom, not only adding to the intricate detail, but giving the 60 Sterling Rings large roomy areas to connect,so there\'s enough \"mobility\", thatit can move freely & sensuously with your body. Of those 60 Sterling Rings, 30of those the Ultra thick, Double Links.It has a Large, TIGHT & SECURE Push Button Box Clasp, attached with aHinged mechanism so it\'s more flexible, thus being easier to fasten. An ULTRADark, NATURAL Patina smothers the entire necklace, but it will polish out to a shinier finish, if you prefer. WHAT I LOVE THE MOST, is it does NOT have the Coral, I think it is SO much more EXPENSIVE looking without it- but that is MY personal opinion, and also makes it blend easier with other things. The Red Coral is so overpowering, it can even cause problems with trying to blend with your other pieces of Jewelry or clothing- AGAIN, just MY opinion, (but I have been told I have GREAT TASTE, and an \"Eye for Quality & Color\", so there! lol
An AMAZING Necklace, theULTIMATE Necklace-(especially if you adore the look of Matl Poulat), but can not mortgage your home just to own one of this style & size! As you know, even the Inspired Necklaces- that are MUCH Smaller, weigh MUCH Less, & that are MUCH, MUCH less elaborate, sell for ENORMOUS $$PRICES$. Even this one was $2800.00 at one time.
