Here is a card featuring the Life In Hell characters Akbar and Jeff. Matt Groening created the brilliant comic Life In Hell, leading eventually to new characters the Simpsons appearing as short sketches on The Tracey Ullman show. These sketches later became the incredibly long-running series, The Simpsons.
This card features one of the most popular Life In Hell strips, when Akbar and Jeff come out of the closet to each other. It was a landmark at the time, considering the widespread suppression of gay-identified characters in mainstream media daily newspapercomic strips.
The card is, as you can see, signed and sketched in by Matt Groening himself. This was done at a popular event held at Los Angeles\' Golden Apple comics store. The card itself is in good condition. This listing also includes the card\'s original envelope (foxed, with a few bends), and an advertising card (fair condition)for the event, gold-colored on one side featuring one of Life In Hell\'s iconic rabbits, with a printeddescription of the event on the other side.
