Click to View Image Album Antique Victorian Era circa 1886 \'Mermod Freres Peerless Forte Piccolo\' Swiss Music Box, and includes Samuel Francis Smith\'s AMERICA (My Country \'tis of Thee), an American patriotic song and one of the national anthems prior to 1930.
Has original Jacot\'s Safety Check, 2 cylinders and 2 tune cards decorated with Romance scenes (cherubs frolicking and playing various musical instruments), celluloid card on lid with Orpheus (legendary musician in Greek mythology), in a solid carved Mahogany table top case(Classical/Floral design), and pine cylinder storage box. Serial Number 120114. Songs on cylinder 1 are: Mocking Bird, Last Rose of Summer, Old Folks At Home, Dixie\'s Land, America and Home Sweet Home.
Cylinder 2: Honey Moon, Folly Brothers, Princess Bonnie, Yale, Katy Did and Marguerite.It is 22\" wide x 12 1/4\" deep x 8 1/4\" tall and weighs 23 lbs. see photos and listen at the above links for condition:
It is over 100 years old and in excellent used working condition, from an affluent local estate.
All the teeth are intact and the mechanism runs smoothly. The crank winds easily. The glass dust cover/damper is in good original condition.
Case has some minor usage scratch marks and is missing the small celluloid key-hole cover.
