Meukow Cognac, French Antique Advertising Porcelain Enamel Sign, Bangkok, Siam For Sale
World famous Meukow Cognac was first made in France in 1862 by two Russian brothers. The sign, measuring 21 x 12.5inches and weighing 4 lbs 4 oz, was made in Strasbourg, France (see lower right corner). The age is uncertain, but the lower label on the bottle says Siam, which suggests the sign was made before the end of World War II, when Siam became known as Thailand. The sign was probably made in the 1930's, or possibly earlier. The large writing is Thai language. Chinese characters are seen in the lower right corner. The bottle label has French and English words. We obtained the sign at the Chatuchak Weekend flea market in Bangkok in the late 1990's. Overall condition is very good. Shipping cost varies with destination: For example, USPS Parcel Select to Kentucky would be $23.15. We ship to any country serviced by the Global Shipping Program.Insurance (domestic only)is included in the shipping cost estimate. Please WAIT FOR INVOICEbefore making payment.
