Subcommandante Marcos doll, made by the indians in Chiapas to support the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN), a Mexican rebel movement. In 1974 Marcos led an army of Mayan farmers protesting against the Mexican government's treatment of indigenous peoples, and advocated having the Mexican contitution amended to recognize their rights. He is known for his ski mak clad face. Image shows him with his mask and backpack, carrying his rifle with the symbolic EZLN letters on it.
