RARE MEXICAN HAND CRAFTED STERLING SILVER BRANCH HANDE TUREEN; TANE, MEXICO CITY; 27 OUNCES; EXCELLENT
We are quite pleased to offer this rare c1950 Mexican sterling silver hand crafted vegetable tureen.
An unusual design in Mexican silver.
From Tane Orfebres, Mexico City. Founded in the early 1950s. The company renowned for some of the most important examples of Mexican hand wrought silver.
The tureen in circular form, gently scalloped and stepped overhang rim.
Boldly cast conjoined branch handles. The surfaces with gnarled, rough hewn life like finish detail. Rising from satin surface leaf terminal.
The well fit cover with equaly striking acorn and leaf finial.
Hallmarked as shown. Tane and Sterling marks. Also the actual mark of the silversmith who created the tureen "ADM".
This exceptionally hand crafted Tane sterling silver tureen is 7 1/2 inches across handles and 5 tall.
Exceptionally thick, heavy guage sterling construction tureen weighs 27 (standard) ounces.
Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf. Cover well fit. The hand chased acorn finial and branch handles retian their original detail.
