This is a magnificent piece of brutalist styled art! And what\'s more
it is functional too! This sculpture serves also as a planter and can be
used to put a plant on the wall. The mid century modern period,
particularly in the California Modernist culture were very aware
of the need for plants as a key element in interior design.
Bullet planters and hanging pots were ways to give plants a new
elevation in an interior. This sculpture is one of those genius ways
mid century designers found to place a floating plant on the wall
in the highest of geometric, brutalist style!
We\'ve never seen another like this. It is truly an amazing
work and has sculpted wood in a brutalist sunburst style
supporting a brass half-bowl that hangs in the center.
It has some wear to the finish enamel and there is some
patina inside and outside the brass sphere.
It looks great and is perfect for a main living area,
entry way, hall, bedroom or even bath area.
It\'s a piece that works everywhere - testimony to its superb design.
