Mid Century Paul Mccobb Planner Group Dining Set Maple Table 3 Chairs 1950s For Sale
Stylish Mid Century Modern compact dining set by noted Modernist American furniture and industrial designer Paul McCobb (1917-1969). Created for the Winchendon Furniture Co., this set was part of the "Planner Group," a popular line of modern furniture that was in production from 1949 until 1964. The pieces in the group are characterized by their iconic splayed legs and clean, geometric lines. The table comes with two leaves, one of which is branded with the maker's mark. The chairs are an intriguing play on the classic Windsor chair, updated for the Atomic Age home. All pieces are constructed from solid maple and have a beautiful golden color.
Overall, this set is in very good condition, especially considering its age. There is one small, stable crack near the edge of the table, but otherwise no damage or repairs. Light wear associated with age and use.
Each chair stands 30.5" tall and measures 20" wide. The table measures 40" X 30" without its leaves and stands 29" tall. The leaves are 10".
