Mid Century, Moderne, Iris Tray By Wendell August Forge For Sale
This small, elegant tray shows three iris flowers descending in size from left to right. Measures 16 1/4" x 9 1/4" (including handles). Stamped 617. The same tray is illustrated in Bk. 1, p.63. I am currently selling a collection of about 40 hammered aluminum lots (several items in some lots) that I've had for 20 years. The collection includes WAF, Everlast, Kensington, Canterbury Arts and other makers. Where relevant I have referenced the page number from Dannie Woodard's books"Hammered Aluminum - Hand Wrought Collectibles"(book 1, 1983 and book 2, 1993) where the item is illustrated. I recommend these books as definitive sources for any collector of aluminum. Generally, the condition of the collection is as you'd expect after a long time in storage: dusty, the odd,old sticker and all items could do with a clean. I will point out specific condition issues but please ask before offerding if you have condition questions.
