Acarte de visitephotograph of\"Major Dyson Laurie when on duty at Afghan 1879\".Julius Dyson Dyson-Laurie served with the the 14th (Buckinghamshire) Regiment in Crimea from 1855, including the siege and fall of Sevastopol andthe assault of the Redan (during which he was severely wounded), receiving medal with clasp and the Turkish medal. He then served in the Indian campaign in 1858/59 and was at the capture of Meeangunge, capture of Lucknow, relief of Azimghur and other actions, for which he received a medal and clasp. He then served in Afghanistan, superintending communications on the Khyber line, for which he received a medal. He ended his career as Colonel in command of the Border Regimental district, Carlisle.
