A superbearly 1915 Neuve ChapelleMC group to Lieut ARF Lucas RHA - Military Cross (reverse engraved), 1914 star& bar, British war and victory (MID)medals.
Military Cross citation:
"Second Lieutenant A. R. F. Lucas, "O" Battery, Royal Horse Artillery. For the excellent work performed from 10th to 12 March 1915, as forward observing Officer during the attack on Neuve Chapelle, when his information was always timely and accurate. On 12th March he continued to furnish valuable information, although his station was subject to heavy shell fire."
Captain Alan Reginald Farrar Lucas Born on 23 August 1893, eldest son of Rev. F G L Lucas of Morstead Grange, Winchester Student at Eton from 1907 to 1910 and at Trinity College, Cambridge where he obtained a BA degree in 1912. Commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant, RFA, 18 December 1913 Went to France with O Battery, RHA on 6 November 1914 and received the Star and Clasp Lieutenant, 9 June 1915 Served in France, Egypt and Palestine MC, LG 28 April 1915 MID, LG 22 June 1915 Captain, 3 November 1917 with citation After the Great War he joined the Reserve of Officers as a Captain His address in 1920 was White's Club, 37 St. James St, London SW
