Mini 4 Gang Poly-film Variable Tuning Capacitor 320pf. Great For Crystal Radios:
Miniature 4 Gang
Poly-film Variable Tuning Capacitor
For Broadcast Band (AM) 320pF Max
This is a very versatile capacitor. It
has four individual sections that can be combined in parallel to increase the
Tying all four sections for a maximum capacitance of about 320pf makes it ideal for the broadcast band (AM Band).
Of course your circuit is dependent on the coil as well.
There are four individual plate sections.
Plate section 1 is 160pF, section 2 is 100pF, section 3 is 30pF,
and section 4 is 30pF. There are also four individual trimmers on the bottom that will allow a small
adjustment of each section, approximately 3-4pF each.
This makes a nice capacitor for use in
crystal radios or QRP receiver circuits.
It can also be used as a replacement in old style transistor radios.
Keep in mind that with one common and
four individual sections, you can combine the sections
for different values of capacitance. For example, if you tie all four sections you get about 320pF.
If you tie the 160pf section and 100pF section you can have a variable that is 260pF or tie
other sections for the value desired.
Tying the sections together just means soldering a wire from one terminal to the other.
Completely enclosed in a clear
polyethylene plastic case to protect plates.
This is a solidly built capacitor. The plastic is very heavy duty.
Includes knob and screw to secure knob.
Small size about 7/8” Square x 11/16” high.
See photos above for exact dimension.
This is a very hard to find item. Limited quantities. I am almost out of these.

A Note to International Customers:
First I want to say that when we receive an order, it is shipped promptly
within 1-3 days. Once the order is brought to the post office and shipped, it
is out of our hands. Delivery outside of the United States can take anywhere
from 1 week all the way up until 12 weeks (Typical though is one to four
There are numerous reasons for the delay. Typically, packages are delayed in customs, first in the United States and then in overseas customs. We cannot control the time packages are in customs.
If you contact us to see where your item is, and we tell you it has been shipped, that is all we can do. On small packages, we do not use delivery confirmation because of the high cost. The cost to use confirmation overseas will far exceed the price of the item purchased. If the package has not arrived by 12 weeks, we will issue you a refund or a replacement if the item is available.
According to statistics, only 19% of sellers in the United States will ship overseas. And according to surveys, those who do not ship overseas site customer complaints from long delivery times as the reason.
We have chosen to do business with our international friends. However, we ask for your patience. Too often we get emails asking where my item is when it has not even been a week or two.
Our next choice will be to either discontinue international sales or charge for delivery confirmation which will add considerably to the cost.
Please be patient.
Note, it is the responsibility of the buyer to pay all and any custom fees. We do not know how much these fees are. You will have to inquiry within your own country.
