Miniature Vintage V. Bueche Girod Musical Travel Alarm - Gem-like Little Clock:
Vintage V. Bueche Girod Miniature Alarm Clock (watch) 1960's50 years ago, if you were a world traveler, there were no cell phones with alarms or digital watches. If you needed to rise early in the morning, you would rely on a wake-up call or on your trusty wind-up travel alarm. And in the late '60's or early '70's flying on the Concord with just a valise, this little gem would have been your favorite travel clock. It's a watch-based alarm clock made by Bueche Girod and marketed by Nastrix Corp., New York, an importer of fine watches that Jacquie Kennedy gave to JFK and Ari Onassis. The clock uses an AS 1475 alarm wristwatch movement and a miniature Ruege music box movement in the back. It's 29.5mm in diameter (1.16in) and about 15.75mm (.62in) deep. The music box winds at the back, and the two watch crowns, that also act as feet, wind and set the watch, set the alarm, and turn it on and off. The clock is in good working condition (both the watch and the alarm) and it keeps good time. The green lizard cover is in good condition with one very small scuffed spot where the finish is dull. I made a YouTube video so that you can get a good idea of the size and also hear the music. This is a beautiful little gem of a clock - highly collectible and a wonder of micro technology.
