This is a very rare small early c1890s\" PROSPECTORS MINERS ROCK PICK\" The head is only 7\"across\" and the handle is only 11\" long. This prospectors pick has the very early long squared head and it has it\'s originial hickory handle that fits tight into the head.It was found deep underground in an abandoned 1890s mine that you see in my photos.It has original miners candle wax on it and hasn\'t seen light in over 100 years.. These rock picks were used by prospectors and mine geologist to break open ore samples and when I find them underground like this one they were used by miners in gold and silver mines to cull high grade ore.
