A fabulous copy of the influential Bauhaus-era architectural journal, published by the famous specialist art and design publishing house Julius Hoffmann Verlag, Stuttgart.

This important periodical for architects and interior designers catalogued the period of the emergence of modernist design and functionalism in the years of the dramatic emergence of the Bauhaus. It is full of photographs of contemporary architecture, furniture and interiors. It is a fascinating time-capsule reflecting the troubled historical context and rise of powerful forces ideologically opposed to many of the defining principles of the Bauhaus\'s modernising project.
This fabulous issue begins with a short piece on the important Die Wohnung Expo, which was under way at the time of publication, written by one of the contributing architects, Ludwig Hilberseimer. Architects and interior designers with work illustrated in this issue include Djo Bourgeois, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, Walter Gropius (Dessau Bauhaus), Arthur Korn, Ludwig Hilberseimer, Ferdinand Kramer (New Frankfurt), El Lissitzky, Andre Lurcat, Ernst May (New Frankfurt), Adolf Meyer, Hannes Meyer and Hans Wittwer, Erich Mendelsohn, Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe (Berlin), Richard Neutra (LA) , JJP Oud (Rotterdam), Hans Poelzig, Gerrit Thomas Rietveld and Schroeder (Utrecht), Antonio Sant \'Elia (Milan), Mart Stam, Adolf Schneck, Bruno Taut, and Frank Lloyd Wright (Taliensin).
Condition: It is complete and in excellent condition for its age and fragility with just expected signs of careful handling and no significant damages or inscriptions. A superb find!
