History:
New Orleans History Tokens Doubloons are anodized so they will be brilliantly colored. The stamped aluminum coins are thrown by Krewe members from Mardi Gras floats in the New Orleans Area. They come in numerous dates, colors and themes.
A little bit larger than a silver dollar. I like to store them Dollar cardboard flips. Most Doubloons usually have a symbol of the Krewe on the front side including the date and when the Krewe was formed. The backside typically has the theme for that year's parade and may include the date.
When I was little I put doubloon in Tin Cans and they made a great noise. They can be also used for Poker Chips, Decorations, Arts and Crafts....
I hope to see you for the 2013 New Orleans Mardi Gras Season!!!!! Hope you get a doubloon in your throws!!!
