Original heavy weight chinademitasse cup and saucer setfrom theMonon Railroad (Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville RR)in the "Monon" pattern (refer to Richard Luckin's "Dining on Rails", patternMON-1). The demi cupstands2 1/4" high and measures 2 1/2" in diameter. The saucer measures 4 5/8" in diameter.Both pieces weremade by theShenango China Co. andare decorated with the "M"/Indian arrowhead logo and a red pinstripe (see close-up photos). Condition of both pieces is absolutely mint, no signs of use whatsoever. Age is circa 1940's.
