Montblanc Brass Piston MechanismThis piston mechanism works for Montblanc 146/149/PoA/Writer series manufactured between 1980 and 1996.Montblanc changed the inner diameter of ink window after 1996 and piston structures on some of the models. So this WILL NOT WORK ON ANY MODEL manufatured after year 1996.There\'s a mixture of new and old piston structures for pens made in year 1996. Generally, all models with double layered ink window WILL NOT FIT. Please inquire before buying if you still have any doubts.The package contain 5 parts: Brass piston shaft and housing, 2 rubber piston ends and a hook for removing the piston shaft.How to fit the new the piston:1.Remove the piston using the piston wrench.(THIS TOOL IS NOT INCLUDED AND NEEDS TO BE BOUGHT IN A SEPARATE LISTING)2.Use the hook to pull out the C shaped ring from the end of the piston. This will remove the shaft amd housing from the plastic end of the piston.3.Fit the C shaped ring to the end of the piston shaft and put it into the plastic piston end.4.Use a small screw driver to push the C shaped ring into the socket inside the piston end. You may need good light source and inspect the piston end before step 3.5.Fit the housing outside the shaft and use the piston wrech to screw the piston back.
