Mystery Clock Seth Thomas # 2 Or Ansonia Weight Driven Green For Sale
I have just purchased a large collection of clocks. Check my site often it will take at least three months to dispose of all these clocks.Selling frommyrecent collection a weight driven mystery clock. When I bought it I was told it was a Seth Thomas # 2. But I really don't think so. I think it's an Ansonia. It has the unusual green finish. I have seen this finish before on mission oak furniture. I am positive the finish is correct for this clock. The dial is a paper dial with a Seth Thomas trademark. But I have never seen a real Seth Thomas # 2 with a paper dial. Also has the hands held on with a small nut. I have never seen a Seth Thomas # 2 with anything other than a tapered pin to hold hands on. The movement is not signed. The only signature is the paper dial and I don't trust. Any way it is a nice clean original eight day weight driven clock. This clock is running and keeping good time. The movement appears to be clean and possibly recently serviced. Nice heavy oak case. The dimensions are 36 x 16.I charge $10.95 for packing, handling and insurance on this item. Postage is extra.
