These 10x12"soft inserts are stand alone level IIIa and milstd fragmentation rated construction. Great for handgun and frag protection in any plate carrier with 10x12" pockets. And when worn in your IIIa vest they will stop all IIIa rounds plus 9mmAP, 7.62x25, 5.7x28, .50AE and other speciality pistol rounds and provide up to 40% blunt trauma reduction. Besides being light, these inserts are soft and comfortable and just over 1/4" thick. They are made of Kevlar KM2 and Goldflex II for really good stopping power for fragments and point blank shots (such as .44 magnum) and are thinner and lighter than standard kevlar. Price is for 1. And these are perfect to use in your plate carrier if you use "In Conjunction" SAPI plates (nearly all SAPI plates are in conjunction plates, meaning they have to have IIIa armor behind them to provide their rated protection. If "stand alone" isn't marked on your SAPI then it needs soft armor behind it, and this includes military plates).

There is soft armor listed by other sellers as "Stabproof". NO soft armor of Kevlar, or spectrashield (or its generics of HDPE UMHDPE etc) can pass the NIJ stab test. They are simply making false statements. If in doubt just ask them for their NIJ certifiedstab test.

General information on ballistics: NIJ testing is done on size small through large vest panels. Anything smaller is not tested and is not certified. Our smaller items are made of the exact same construction as our hybrid plus vest panels and are listed as IIIa construction. Our hybrid plus IIIa vest panel has been has been tested by H.P. White and found to pass the

NIJ IIIa Standard-0101.06 ballistic test for .44 magnum.

And as far as we have found, there is no one on actually selling current certified

NIJ IIIa Standard-0101.06 body armor. There is one company that sometimes sells 0101.06 armor that is 2 or 3 years old, but no new production. requires every listing to state “This model complies with NIJ IIIa Standard-0101.06 for Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor” even though they do not meet that standard. If they do not contain this statement the listings can be removed.
