New Orleans Recipes--mary Moore Bremer (1932/44 Paperback 10th Printing):
This paperback book was written by Mary Moore Bremer, illustrated , published in 1932/44 ,by Dorothea Forshee, in New Orleans, and this is the 10 edition published in 1944 . It is approx. 5.50" X 7.75", has 90 pages including as index, it is spiral bound, and is in good condition. The covers have shelf wear and stain markings, the top three and bottom two loops have pulled loose from the plastic spiral binding, a tear on the back and a few tiny tears on edges, the binding itself has a crack in it, and the inside of the book appears to be in little read condition. This is a great booklet that features recipes for beverages, soups, fish, shellfish, meats, vegetables, and much more, that look as if they come straight out of the old New Orleans. In New Orleans cooking is considered at art with the French influence, the African influence as well as Spanish and Italian immigrants all contributing to what has become Cajun/Creole cooking. The people of this part of the world used what they found here in the way of fruits, vegetables, fish, seafood, wild game and beef to cook with, and that makes the Cooking here is New Orleans different from most other places. The author starts each section of the book With odd, chatty and very interesting and informative commentary to go with these delicious sounding recipes. She will also make comments at the beginning of the recipe or at the end to add interest. Nice old recipes that are all written in an old format, basically in paragraph form. Please ask about discounts for multiple purchases. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS-PLEASE NOTE: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. The condition of the books in this sale will be listed, to the best of my judgement, as either mint, very fine, fine, very good, good, fair, bad, or poor. I have tried to photograph and/or describe my books as honestly and fairly as possible, but I will not attempt to list every single smudge, mark, or color variation on every square inch of each page.
