This is a 40% silver Eisenhower dollar Type-2 Planchet which was never struck. The coin has a raised edge, and is of the type-2 variety. 40% silver planchets were used for the \"S\" mint silver issues for the Ike dollar series.
Until recently, these were virtually unknown, but a very few have come on the market since a hoard of them were discovered in San Francisco in the last few years (dubbed the \"San Francisco Hoard.\"
