The Fallingwater Red is based on the adult male Scarlet Tanager. This striking songbird is frequently seen as they slowly and deliberately seek out beetles and caterpillars high in the dense tree canopy surrounding Fallingwater (a house designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 in rural southwestern Pennsylvania).
