NICE ANTIQUE CHINESE YIXING POTTERY VASE

Up for sale is a nice quality antique Chinese Yixing pottery vase. I would say that it dates from the early 20th century (1900/1920) and is marked on the base with a seal mark (see photos). The vase is decorated with a flowering branch on one side and four lines of calligraphy on the other. It is made of buff coloured pottery with contrasting red clay applied handles. It is in perfect condition and has been much used with the result that the clay has achieved a very nice colour. It measures 17.6 cm (6 15/16 inches) in height and 11.3 cm (4 ½ inches) in diameter across the handles.
