Up for your consideration is this NICE Antique Steif Jewelers 22kt Solid Gold Ring!! It is a little small but may be able you be resized. Currently is a size 3 1/2 - 3 3/4. Also has an inscription on the inside which reads: FLW to AOR. It is stamped 22kt and also has a makers mark for Steif Jewelers. This is NOT to be confused with Steiff jewelry. This particular piece was likely made sometime in the early 1900\'s. It is in Very good condition considering its age. Has some light surface scratches consistent with age and normal wear. Has not been repaired or resized. The band is 3mm wide, and weighs about 4.1 grams. Also come with the vintage ring box in the picture but I do not believe that it the original box. (May be?) I have included a little history on the original Jewelry company.

The B. H. Steif Jewelry Companyof Nashville Tennessee was founded in 1858. They arenot affiliated with the Steiff Company of the Steiff bear fame. BrunoHugo Stief was born on March 21, 1845, in Prussia. He was 7 years oldwhen he boarded the passenger ship \"Irma\" at Hamburg Germanywith his father Franz Stief, his mother Susan Helena and his brother Oskar andsister Attelia. They arrived in the United States on August 6, 1852.By 1860 they are living in Nashville. Franz is a \"ban-boxmaker\" while Oscar and Bruno are apprentice watchmakers. Brunomarried Francies G. Fields on March 3, 1869. It doesn\'t appear that thecouple had any children which would most likely account for the company passingout of the hands of the family after the death of Bruno in 1890.The following excerpt comes from The Jewelers\'Circular v. 78, issue 1, 1919:A Pioneer in Dear Old Tennessee: Taking a westward direction we reach what wasonce termed \"The Athens of the South,\" Nashville, Tenn., and pay avisit to the store of the B.H. Stief Jewelry Co. About 50 years ago thethen proprietor had the honor of serving Gov. Andrew Jackson and many wealthysouthern people whose families resided in Nashville because it was such a greateducational city. They bouth the best, and the firm sold only solid goldjewelry and solid silverware. The stock was dispensed from a diminutiveestablishment 15 x 18 feet, with no employees but Mr. Stief himself. Thepopulation of the town was then 25,000, with two daily newspapers. Goodswere bought directly from all the large manufacturers of jewelry andsilverware.
