Nice Old Antique Vtg Fan Ca 1914 Century Frame S2 Model 102 Electric Fan For Sale

Nice Old Antique Vtg Fan Ca 1914 Century Frame S2 Model 102 Electric Fan

** VERY SCARCE **

OLD ANTIQUE VTG Ca 1914 CENTURY FRAME S2 MODEL 102 ELECTRIC FAN

This offering is for an original antique Century Electric Fan. The original brass makers tag on top of the motor reads in part "CENTURY ALTERNATING CURRENT FAN MANUFACTURED IN USA BY CENTURY ELECTRIC CO ST LOUIS MO FRAME S2 - 12 INCH MODEL 102 VOLTS 110 CYCLES 60 NUMBER 123741 PATENTED DEC. 29 1914". The fan measures app. 16" in overall height to the top of the cage, the cage itself measures app. 13" in diameter, the blades are right at 12" in diameter. It measures app. 11½" in height to the top of the motor housing not including the carrying handle. The fan is marked "CENTURY" on the tag on the front of the cage. The blades of the fan are brass while the cage is steel. The fan does run very well on the highest speed but the blades usually need to be given a push to get it going. When you switch it to the lower speeds it will eventually stop. Also I have not been able to get the oscillator to work. I'm not sure if there is actually a problem with it or if I'm not doing something correctly. The fan undoubtedly needs a complete and thorough cleaning, tightening and adjusting. The painted finish also has some wear and scattered losses most notably to the top sides of the motor housing and the very edge of the base. I have tried to describe the fan to the worst degree as possible so that when you receive it you will be more than pleased. The fan definately needs some work and TLC but it will have a great presence once properly restored. This great early electric fan will make an excellent addition to your collection!! If any further assistance is needed just drop me a note with any questions you may have and I will respond ASAP.
