Navajo Old Pawn Bracelet Hand Stamped Exquisite Early Ingot Sterling Silver .925 For Sale
I'm offering for your consideration a favorite personal bracelet of mine which I bought on a trip out West in the early 1970s from Old Pawn. I don't know how old it is but it has signs of being very old and I've always considered it to be very special. There are marks on the back showing it was hand worked from ingot. The stamp work and repousse´ work is as good as I've ever seen, with very fine tiny details, all impeccably executed and an overall design that is elegant and always suitable. The versatility of this piece is that it can be dressed up or down and can work with anything else because of the simple elegance of every aspect of it. It is comfortable to wear because the silver is so flexible that it conforms naturally to the warmth of your wrist; it seems alive in that way.
You never know when you buy something if it will end up being ignored or worn constantly. This is one that became my most favorite to wear. It's almost a part of me and I think you will feel the same.
The internal length is 5-1/4" end to end and the gap is 1-5/8". It's flexible but of course warm it first by wearing it or holding it, and then be very very gentle. The width is 1-7/8" at the center, very slowly tapering to rounded terminals at about 1-1/4", approximately. It is not signed by the artist or for silver content but it's sterling silver. It's in superb vintage condition without problems. It looks like there are dings in the center, in some pictures but that's just a reflection. The silver is reflective even though it has a warm patina.
I haven't seen such a fine, stamped, repousse´ old bracelet in this kind of condition; it's a rare piece of museum quality. Highly collectible of course.
