You're not likely to find anything like this again. Several years ago my husband bought a box of things he couldn't live without at a local sale, and amid some tools the box also included this magnificent old natural Royston turquoise stone pendant that weighs in at an incredible 584 carats!
I had the bail replaced because the original bail had corroded, but the huge and super expensive sterling silver replacement bail befits this huge stone that measures 2 and 3/8ths" by about 2" by 1¼." The engraved raindrop shaped bail in stamped sterling on the inside surface and has a useable interior diameter of 7/8th."
One side of this pendant with pale yellow vein matrix is predominantly blue with a little blue green and green while the reverse side mostly blue green and green with some blue.
To give you an idea how much turquoise this is,20 to25nice sized bracelets could be made from this stone alone -- it's a gorgeous conversation piece that grows more valuable every day as turquoise supplies diminish and prices rise.
This one of a kind pendant would look great with many of the longer Singer necklaces or a choker pendant for an NFL player.
The original bail wasn't stamped sterling that I could although I think it was and displayed no hallmark which was typical before the late 1970s, but the box inventory stated it was Navajo madeand had been purchased in New Mexico in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
