A vintage Neoclassical decorative handmade wooden box Schönheiten Galerie Konig Ludwig I, Nympheburg Palace, Munich, Germany.
The cover contains the image of Helene Sedlmayer (b. 1813) , a 19th century German beauty, considered the epitome of Munichs\'s beauties at the time. Ms. Sedlmayer\'s portrait hangs along with 37 others of bourgeois or aristocratic origins in the beauty gallery of King Ludwig I, Nymphenburg Palace, Munich, Germany. Almost all portraits were done by the painter, Joseph Karl Steiler (b. 1781) known for his Neoclassical style.
The bottom of the box has what appears to have a hand-stamp of: 78 08 07 (see image)
Size is roughly 3.5 x 2 inches.
Inside the box is a sachet of lavender (came with box) and the following note adhered to the lid:
