A cousin to the favored Joel Ellis wooden dolls, this 13.5” SPRINGFIELD WOODEN doll was made in Springfield, Vermont in the 1870s by Cooperative Manufacturing or more likely Mason & Taylor; she’s in very good condition with original paint, cast-metal hands & boots, and black paper ‘belt’.

Her sweet face has hand-painted blue eyes, black & red lid-lines, brown brows, a hint of rosy cheeks and little red bow mouth; creamy ivory paint covers her head & chest, lower arms & legs, and her molded hair is blonde and curly.

Jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, her boot-feet retain the original turquoise paint, and she comes from a non-smoking environment.
