Night Before Christmas Quilt Blocks reproduced from 1896 book 8"x10" Lot 16
There are books on tape, books on video, now there are BOOKS ON QUILTS! This quilt block kit contains 16 blocks that I have reproduced direct onto 8" x10" squares of 100% cotton unbleached muslin, which are washable, no bleach or detergent with bleach added (washing instructions included). Each picture block represents a page from a storybook I recently purchased, THE NIGHT BEFORE Christmas or A VISIT OF ST. NICHOLAS, copyright 1896 by McLoughlin Bros. The Night Before Christmas poem was written by Dr. Clement C. Moore for his children on Christmas Eve 1822. When I read this book, I wondered how many little children had read it or had it read to them through the 100+ years, while anticipating the visit from Santa Claus. These blocks will make an adorable quilt, cloth book, or wall hanging for Christmas decorating. I have shown thumbnail scans (click for enlarged view) of the blocks you will receive plus a rough layout for assembly. Block-to-block, the quilt top would measure approximately 30" wide by 38" long. Of course, you can add sash and borders to enlarge the size. You may also decide to rearrange the sequence of the blocks. In the layout scan, I have presented them in the sequence of the book. Specks in the fabric are cotton seed hulls from the manufacturing process and do not show up as much in your blocks as in the scans. Watermark will not be in your quilt blocks. You will receive all 16 blocks. Shipping is by USPS First Class Mail, International shipping is by USPS First Class International at approximate cost which does not include customs or other taxes due your country. If you want to combine other of my sales, finish all of your shopping (please do not pay individually) then request and wait for an invoice so that I can adjust charges which I cannot do if payment has been made.
