Listed is a Nikon S2 rangefinder camera with a Nikkor 50mm f/2 lens. The Nikon S2 is a professional quality interchangeable lens rangefinder camera designed to compete against the Leica M series of cameras. The Nikon S2 features a built in frame line for a 50mm lens, a fully mechanicaland very reliable focal plane shutterwith durable silk curtains, and it accepts a widevariety of lenses whichwere made by Nikon and other manufacturers. The Nikon has a large 1 to 1viewfinder, which allows for shooting andfocusing with both eyes open, and the camera can be entirely focused, wound, and operated with just the right hand, which makes shooting whilecarrying a bag, orholding anumbrella easy. The Nikon S series of cameras wereincredibly sturdy and reliable, seldomrequiring service, and were used by professional press photographers aroundthe world. The black dial S2 was the last variation of the S2 model, and is the most desirable of thetype.
This S2 is in goodworking condition. The body has some minor dentsand dings, visible in the photos, and the finish has some wear to it as well, otherwise thecamera is very nice. The shutter fires at all speedswithout sticking, and the shutter curtains are in very good shape, with no rot, mold, or deterioration. The rangefinder/viewfinder is clean and clear, and has good contrast. The 50mm f/2 lens is in very goodcondition, with no haze, fungus, or scratches.Thiscamera is a very good user, and will take great photos.
