Nixie Clock Kit W/dekatron Control - 9vac In - Pcb With Parts (rev D - No Tubes):
Six Digit Nixie Clock Kit with Dekatron Pendulum Control - Kit, PCB with Parts
In kit form, you get a circuit that is a six digit nixie clock, plus has additional circuits to run a dekatron. 9VAC are the preferred input voltages. Up to 11VAC, or as low as 7VAC acceptable. The current draw varies on the type of nixie tube you use, but 1 amp is the absolute minimum. A 2 amp wallcube maybe needed if you're driving IN-18s. A 5.5mm OD x 2.5mm ID power jack is provided, so wallcubes can be used.
A HV switching supply is needed to generate the 170V, to power the nixies. This supply is not provided, so you need to get this elsewhere. A Taylor 1363. can fit in J5, or my dual supply , or my 45V-190V supply in J4. I suggest the 45V-190V supply with this complete kit. Dual supply, only if you're getting the blank board. This kit comes with the charge pump parts. That's why (see instructions).
Here's a link to all the instructions you need to build this kit, once you receive it: Clock Kit.
Nixie tubes dekatron are to be acquired separately, by the buyer. There are many sources available, both on , and elsewhere online. The boards do not mount directly the tubes. Connector locations are provided for hours, minutes, seconds, and dekatron groups. This way you are not limited to certain particular types of tubes.
This is the third release of this board, Rev D (No Rev B). It has a considerable number of parts, and uses discrete CMOS logic. It could have been made less complex, part-wise, if a pre-programmed microcontroller was used. By using several logic chips, it makes it more understandable by the casual electronics hobbyist. No board cutting is required, as was in the prior release. Instruction link,
Here's a video of the clock running.
Full kit with parts - Revision D, no cuts required !
What comes with the kit mounts on that one, and only red rectangular board. The perf board, holding the nixies, is NOT included. That assembly holding the dekatron is my homemade socket, which is also NOT included. "Dekatron Support", is circuitry, on the main PCB. The 5 signals coming off P5, then can be directly (electrically, not necessarily connector wise) connected to any 2-guide dekatron. Dekatrons may have 7, 8, 13 or 17 pins. Some of those 5 signals may connect to multiple pins on the dekatron. SEE the instructions !!!
Board measures 6.25in x 2.6in (159 x 66mm).

Domestic shipments automatically have "Delivery Confirmation", which essentially is a tracking method. International shipments will only have their "Customs Declaration" number listed, unless the foreign buyer chooses "Registered Mail". With "Registered Mail", the package can be tracked. "Registered Mail", will incur and additional $12.00 US to the total cost. If you want this option please contact me and wait to be invoiced. If you just pay for it (without being invoiced), the item will be shipped without tracking. only required that I (the seller) prove that I shipped it. A "Customs Declaration" will satisfy that requirement. Its your nickel. From NOW ON, if its lost and you DID NOT pay for registered mail, then THAT'S IT !
IN SOME EURO COUNTRIES, EXPECT A DELAY OF CLOSE TO 2 MONTHS. THIS IS DUE TO CUSTOMS AGENCY HOLDING IT IN THEIR WAREHOUSE FOR MOST OF THAT DURATION !
Please pay or contact me about payment within three days after the end of the sale. Paypal preferred. Domestic buyers contact for other payment methods. Paypal ONLY from foreign buyers. If you are sending your payment thru the mail, please email me that you are doing so. I have recently cancelled my mental telepathy services, so I can no longer read your minds.
