Northwood Carnival Glass Grape & Cable Scalloped Amethyst Bowl- Uncommon:
Northwood Grape & Cable was a pattern introduced in 1910. It has remained one of the most prolific patterns of its time.In addition to regular shapes, several rare and desirable whimsies are known, and entire collections are built around this one pattern. Shown is a rare footed bowl.
This scalloped trimmed bowl is approx. 9 1/4 inches in diameter and 5 1/8 inches in height. The neat thing about this bowl is the scallops are inwardnot outward like most of the bowls. It is Amethyst in color but has many other colors running through it. I have taken several pictures so you can see the entire bowl.
On the one picture with the grapes you can see a what is part of the mold. On the mold seams there is a few rough spots, not chips. Please bear in mind that this is a very old piece and the molds then were donevery differently. If you need another close up picture please let me know and I can do that. I want you to feel confident in your purchase. There are no chips on the rim, feet, bottom. It is in excellent condition. This really is an amazing piece of history.
