Old Vintage Antique Farnell White Mohair English Teddy Bear. Circa 1910-15 For Sale
Early white mohair Farnell bear standing at 16" tall. Circa 1910-15
This gorgeous and rare bear was made by Farnell between 1910 and 1920 and is rare because of his white mohair.
He has been loved as you can see from the photos and his mohair is now a creamy beige colour but you can tell he was
originally white because of his tan brown, nose, mouth and claw stitching which was only used on white bears. He
stands at 16" tall and is completely wood wool stuffed with boot button eyes. Three of his pads were recovered many
years ago and the fourth felt pad has been underlined and has the typical Farnell webbed claw stitching which may also
exist under his replaced paw pad but I am loathe to remove it or even lift a corner as they have been there for so long.He is a wonderful character with a nicely humped back and long arms with spoon shaped paws and very large feet
and he also has a front closing seam which was another typical Farnell feature. Despite his loved condition he is still
a sturdy bear and able to sit up easily on his own and he has a winning smile and bundles of charm. Please view all
of the photos to assess his condition and see how georgeous he is! as these form an important part of the description. This wonderful rare bear is being offered with a very low starting price and to the highest buyer.************************ to the UK - Special delivery including tracking and insurance - £7.95
