Old Zuni Silver Flush Set Turquoise Inlay Dishta Style Bracelet & Ring Set For Sale
OLD ZUNI STERLING SILVER FLUSH SET TURQUOISE INLAY BRACELET AND RING Old hand made Zuni bracelet and ring dating back to around 1950's or 1960's. Attributed to Mathew and Rosemary Lidase. According to historian Gregory Schaaf, the engraved hallmark M&R belongs to Zuni Mathew & Rosemary Lidase. I wonder if the Lidases are or were members of the Dishta family, because this flush inlay of small round turquoise are distinctive of the Dishta family of Zuni pueblo. Starting with Frank Dishta, the Dishta family of artisans developed this style of turquoise inlay jewelry. Frank Dishta(1902-1954) best known for his intricate channel inlay work composed of tiny turquoise circles and teardrops set in plain bezels and ground flush. A spectacular collector set!!!!... The matching bracelet and ring are set with Dishta style flush natural turquoise inlay accented with twisted silver rope and silver beads. The bracelet measures 1-1/4" wide witha 6-1/2" inside circumference including the 1-1/4" gap. It can be partially adjusted.Features 70 individually inlaid turquoise settings. The ring measures a size 7 on a ring sizer. 1-5/8" long and 3/4" wide. Amazing detail throughout.Zuni flush inlay jewelry with this characteristics are highly sought after and continue to increase in value.
