Old Zuni Flat Turquoise Channel Inlay Fancy Dangle Earrings Dishta For Sale
Dimensions: 1 7/8” long.
Pair Weighs: 7.8 grams. Penny in photo for scale.
S/H/I: $7.70 ~ International Shipping Will Cost More ~
Old Zuni sterling silver dangle earrings with blue natural turquoise flat channel inlay. The earrings have an upper cluster section with a teardrop shaped pendant dangling below it. The interesting aspects of these attractive earrings are the swiveling French wire hook findings on the backs of the upper section. Soldered on French wires are typically very fragile and break easily. This swiveling design puts no pressure on the findings. I have never seen this swiveling finding before, but it should be copied in contemporary jewelry!
Excellent quality and condition with a nice patina. Some of the stones have darkened in color with age and wear. These earrings are classic early workmanship of the Dishta Family from Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico. Very reasonable reserve.
