This is one of the Rarest Anheuser Busch bottles you will find, this one being a Branch bottle from Omaha Nebraska. This is an Early, Aqua, Quart Size Blob Top bottle. It has a Large round slugplate on the front with embossing that reads,...."FAUST BOTTLING WORKS, G.Z. OMAHA, NEB." The reverse side of the bottle has "THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD" and the base has "S.B. & G. CO." for the Glassmaker, Streator Bottle & Glass Co. of Streator, IL. This Large, Heavy and Impressive Bottle measures 11 & 3/4 inches tall. The Bottle is in Fine Condition, Mostly Clean, lightly tumbled and just retains a hint of inner haze, a few lt. scratches or wear marks on the surface. The Lip is Smooth and Clean. There are No Chips, Cracks, Bruises on the bottle, just two flat slivers on the Underside of the Blob from the Wire Bail movement. The chips are about the size of a fingernail or so, and fairly thin and smooth. FAUST Beer was First Brewedand Sold in 1885 at the Tony Faust Oyster Bar and Saloon in Downtown St. Louis. Anthony Faust and Adolphus Busch were Very Close friends and the Beer was made as a Special Brew for the Restaurant but soon became so popular that it was bottled and sold in select cities. I am not sure who or what the initials of 'G.Z." are, probably someone in the Omaha area does. I have seen Dozens of Early Anheuser Busch bottles, Never another one of these.
