Orig 1873 J & E Stevens Cast Iron Tammany Mechanical Bank Working Vg Cd For Sale
This sale is for a Vintage Original 1873 J & E Stevens Cast iron Mechanical "Tammany" bank. The Vintage bank is really in very good condition for its age. The side grills are embossed Tammany Bankand grill are both in great shape with no breaks or cracks. The bank uses the weight of the coin to perform the mechanical action. Place a Penny in the figures righthand and the weight of the coin causes the hand to lower and deposit the coin into his pocket & he then nods his head in thanks to the giver. The paint is original and is approx 85% intact, there are some paint chips but not bad. Measures 5 3/4" high by 3 1/4" wide by 4 3/8" deep. This is really in good condition for being as old as it is, even retains the coin trap on the bottom. Very nice example of a Vintage Cast Iron Mechanical Bank. Starting this one low with . I have tried the bank with pennies, nickles and quarters and everything works as it should, arm drops the coin and promptly returns into position, the nead nods and returns to the original position promptly.
