In Norse mythology, Mjölnir "The Grinder" is the hammer of Thor, the God of Thunder. Mjölnir is depicted in Norse mythology as one of the most fearsome weapons, capable of leveling mountains
The Prose Edda gives a summary of Mjölnir's special qualities in that, with Mjölnir, Thor: "... would be able to strike as firmly as he wanted, whatever his aim, and the hammer would never fail, and if he threw it at something, it would never miss and never fly so far from his hand that it would not find its way back, and when he wanted, it would be so small that it could be carried inside his tunic"
Viking warrior aristocracy were particularly inspired by Thor's ferocity in battle and wore amulets of Mjöllnir to invoke his power Amulets were often worn by Viking Warriors to grant them the power and ferocity of "The God of Thunder"
The Vikings were some of the greatest warriors in history
The Viking berserker warriors were the most feared off all, believed to use herbal type drugs such as anmirifta to enhance their mood for battle, the berserker warriors are believed to have stood biting their shields and swords in anticipation of the forthcoming battle and violence
"Amulet" is a name given to a class of objects and ornaments, and articles of dress and wearing apparel, made of various substances which were employed by the Egyptians, and later by other nations, to protect the human body, either living or dead, from baleful influences, and from the attacks of visible and invisible foes
The word "amulet" is derived from an Arabic root meaning "to bear, to carry," hence "amulet" is "something which is carried or worn," and the name is applied broadly to any kind of talisman or ornament to which powers are ascribed
