$155

Up for offer is a very neat original civil war 124th descriptive list document relating to soldier Gideon H. Pelton of company "D" "Warwick Boys" 124th New York "Orange Blossoms" regiment. Pelton was wounded during the fighting near Devil's Den on July 2nd 1863 during the Battle of GETTYSBURG. The document is in solid original condition and has been well cared for over the years. Document exhibits light wear and has some very light soiling and period folds. The 124th New York Orange Blossoms were a very hard fighting Army of the Potomac Regiment. It is widely believed that Author Stephen Crane based his book "The Red Badge of Courage" on the civil war exploits of the 124th New York. Document is signed by Captain James W. Benedict of company "D" and was originally obtained from the archive of Captain Benedict. Absolutely Guaranteed 100% authentic in every regard.
