Original A P Stolen Hans Wegner AP-19 Papa Bear Chair. Faeturing the original orange wool upholstery. This was originally purchased locally in the early 50's, I am the second owner of the chair. The chair has the original stamp on the bottom as seen in the photo "A P Stolen Denmark Maker Hans J Wegner" . It is sits great, and is a strong chair, I believe the wood to be teak.It is in vintage very good condition. The rubber foam in the seat cushion has deteriorated as expected with age. It is approximately 39" in height a the tallest point, and 36" in width, and depth. Buyer to arrange shipping of their choice. Beginning in 1953, the Danish workshopPP Møbler,formed by brothers Ejnar and Lars Peder Pedersen in 1953,began manufacturing the beech wood frames for the chairs. In celebration of PP Møbler's 50th anniversary, the company reissued the "Papa Bear" chair and ottoman. The chair received its namesake after a critic commented that its armrests were like "great bear paws embracing you from behind."
