This sale is for an original WWII era B-15 flight jacket with thick alpaca wool lining and plush mouton (sheepskin) collar; it is made of an OD green cotton canvas fabric and features brown rib knit cuffs and waist band; it has a full frontbrass "Talon" brandzipper closure which is slightly offset from the center; exterior has two snap down "hand warmer" slash/slot pockets which are flannel lined, also has two similar interior chest pockets with flannel linings; left sleeve has an off-set stacked, double pencil/pen pocket set at an angle below the painted stencil insignia of the USAAF, which has remnants of "Army Air Force" spelled out below it; retains the original printed gauze fabric size label at the back neck which shows it is size "44", no maker's label found, no evidence that it has been removed. Jacket is in overall VERY nice condition with minimal signs of wear or use; the "Army Air Force" lettering is faint, it may have intentionally been partially scraped away by a former owner as the insignia shows virtually no wear? Insignia is line drawn/painted and intact; zipper works properly and smoothly; all pocket snaps are in place and working fine, retaining 95-99% of their original OD painted finish; under collar tab (OD canvas with mouton strip) is intact and in place, as are the two corresponding buttons; jacket is clean overall, no musty or bad smells; has a couple scattered small spots or stains, faint to light and not visually distracting; has a small surface snag here or there but don't see any runs and no rips, tears or repairs found; seams all appear sturdy, original and intact; no excessive wear or holes in the ribbing but has lost the most part of it's elasticity due to age. Just an all around nice example of the B-15 flight jackets!! Actual garment measurements: across back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, 21.5"; around chest at armpit level with zipper closed, 52" (but remember it is heavily lined so knock off a couple of inches for the interior chest measurement!); outer sleeve length including cuff, 26"; underarm sleeve length, also including cuff, 18.5"; down center back from collar seam to bottom edge of ribbing, 25".
