WHAT A PRETTY SET!!! Dates to circa 1900. This was kind of a mess when I bought it, very dirty. I took it all apart and cleaned it, only to find that the porcelain on the brush was marked. I have a couple pictures of the mark, R. C. with a Crown. I believe this is Rosenthal?? But you be the judge.
The set is in nice condition, the transfers on the hand mirror have a little crackling on the smaller open rose, But the Roses are exquisite! Very detailed and realistic. The original mirror was cracked, So I have replaced with a new heavy beveled mirror, very close to what it would have had originally.
The back of the brush has minor scratches, and the bristles on the brush are dark and worn. There are no open holes, but the bristles are bent & broken in areas, thinning.
The brass has a very intricate scroll & rose embossed pattern over both sides of the handles. The metal has aged to a dark patina. This would polish bright if you like that look. There are a few dents around the frame of the mirror, which is common on these mirrors. The set will box at 2 pounds.
