OTTOMAN TURKISH SCRIBE SCISSORS Gold Inlay KOFTGARI c1850 Islamic Art
Rare pair of antique Ottoman Turkish scribe scissors dating from the 19th century. Original leather carry case, possibly lizard or snake skin. Brass handles & steel blades, the steel has Damascene gold inlaid decoration in the Koftgari style. The steel has a lovely 'blued' patination. I have described these scissors as Ottoman but there is an outside chance they are from Qajar Persia or Mughal India.
Overall very good condition. Surface rusting to the blades.
They measure 205mm long.
