Outstanding Mib Rare R John Wright 9” Frighten Dopey W/pick Axe/low Number Nr For Sale
Here is a fabulous, MINT, in his original box, low numbered, R. John Wright Frightened Dopey with his pick ax from the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Dopey is perfect in every way and his frightened face is adorable. In my opinion this frightened Dopey along with the other Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs made by the RJW company are my favorite and first, only to the all composition Knickerbockers Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I don't think this little guy has ever been out of his box until I took him out for the pictures. Frightened Dopey looks exactly like the other R John Wright dwarfs except for his frowny little face. I don’t know if I believe, he does not belong to a same numbered set and was made as an individual or an add on dwarf but I don’t know why. Dopey comes in his heavy original box that is perfect and is a limited addition of 40/250. I think the dwarfs, with their mining tools, like Dopey's pick ax were the first generation of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with only 250 made along with the individual frightened Dopey. I’m really not sure but I bet someone out there does know the so behind the frightened Dopey. Dopey is 9" tall and has his original paper tag under his cloths, original brass RJW button and his original story booklet tied to his wrist. His original felt everything along with his metal and wood ax are perfect. His coloring is marvelous and the detail and sculpting to his sad face, big ears, red nose and cheeks are exquisite. Dopey is jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips so he can pose pretty much any way you want. The paper tag under Dopey’s coat reads Walt Disney The Seven Dwarfs Frightened Dopey The Walt Disney Company No. 040/250 R John Wright Dolls Inc. The entire set includes Snow White, Snow White Rags to Riches, Sneezy, Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Dopey, Bashful and Happy. If you are lucky enough to have the hole set, you need this Dopey to make them complete. The only flaw but I am not sure would be all the other RJW characters usually have a tag on the end of the box stating who or what is in the box. Dopey’s box does not have that and maybe never did. If you have been waiting for this particular Frightened Dopey to finally come along to add the final touches to your collection, now is the time to snack him up before someone else does. This marvelous, low numbered, 9” 40/250, mint in original box, R John Wright Frightened Dopey I’ve seen sell for well over $600.00 but for fun, he is being sold “as is” and without reserve so don't let him get away.
