Outstanding Parker Vacumatic Single Jewel Maxima, Canada 1945, Reverse Trim :
Here is an astonishing late Canadian Vacumatic, a single-jewel Maxima in what appears to be Silver Pearl with reverse trim. I've never seen anything quite like it. The color is slightly darker than the Silver Pearl Vacs from the previous decade, but it can't really be anything else. Take a look at picture 3 for a comparison with other Vac colors: from top to bottom we have a Standard Silver Pearl from 1935, next to it the present pen, then a Blue Maxima from the '40s, then a green Standard from 1937. (If you want the other three, you'll have to wait a little! sorry about that!)
The pen is in great condition: just a patch of the blue of the Blue Diamond is missing, and some fairly gentle teeth have made their mark on the blind cap, though these should be easily buffable by buffers. The blind cap, not the teeth.
Nice transparency, a little ambered but not causing discoloration!
The all-plastic black filler seems to belong: it was wartime, and Parker reserved his aluminum for the war effort.
The nib has a fair amount of its two-tone effect still present; it appears to be a fine, or even ultra-fine.
The pen will need a new diaphragm fitted if you intend to fill and use it.
Dimensions: length closed, exactly 5 1/4", 133 mm. With cap posted, 6 1/8", 156 mm. Diameter at cap-band, just short of 5/8", 15.4 mm.
The collection is still being seriously thinned out. This week's batch will include two 1936 Seniors: in Emerald Pearl (fantastic pen!) and in Silver Pearl with its matching pencil in a separate sale, a few Striped Duofolds, and some more modern things: 75s, 35s, 180s. All of which are worth a click on 'See other items'!
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. I've been on for about 12 years, both as buyer and seller, and I want the experience, yours and mine, to be completely problem-free. I'm interested in things like honesty and transparency (no falsified customs declarations: don't ask, please) and precise descriptions and customer service and economical shipping and things; I presume you are too! Don't hesitate to ask questions or request extra pictures. The shipping total includes a small sum to cover the costs of materials: these things deserve proper protection. Returns accepted within 7 days (for refund of final price minus shipping) if there's any discrepancy between the item and the description. But please have any buyer's remorse before you commit to buy...
I will of course combine shipping in the case of multiple purchases: a single shipping charge for all the pens/pencils purchased from the current batch. Mad, but true.
My aim is to ship within 3 days of receipt of payment; a fairly demanding full-time job (sometimes known as 'Retirement') has been known to get in the way...
Many thanks for taking time to view this sale. Warmest greetings from truebluebp to friends and buyers and all who visit his sales!
(P.S. Not that it matters, but has got its rural French postcodes all wrong, and won't be persuaded to change. We don't live in Belhomert Guéhouville, but in Saint Victor de Buthon, 43 kms west of Chartres. Come and see!)
